ITALU-YA.OrdermadeHistory No.226:The Saxophone mouth piece of Silver.
I made a mouthpiece for a saxophone out of silver. It turned out to be a beautiful mouthpiece, with fluid beauty of form inside and out, which affects the tone. It was an interesting custom-made piece, which went beyond the scope of strength and structure considered from the decorativeness and design of accessories, adding the dimension of "sound" and affecting the shape as well. I was reminded of the fascination and possibilities of silver and the history and sound of musical instruments.
サクソフォンに使うマウスピースをSILVERで製作しました。音色に左右する内部と外部の流動的な造形美が何とも美しいマウスピースになりました。アクセサリーの装飾性やデザイン性から考慮する強度や構造の範囲を超えて「音」という次元が加わりカタチにも影響を与える面白いオーダーメイドでした。銀と楽器の歴史と音に改めて面白さと可能性を感じました。
