We designed and produced a ring based on the face armor worn [面頬(Men-pou or Men-bou)] by samurai, and generals. In the three-dimensional modeling process, I tried to express the unique atmosphere of the Japanese samurai especially in the texture and molding. The most difficult part was shaping the nose and chin. If the carving depth is shallow, it will give a flat impression, and if it is too deep, the fantasy feeling will become strong, so I carved it again and again.
侍や武士、将軍が顔に着ける甲冑武具である「面頬」（[めんぽう]または[めんぼう]）を指輪にデザインして製作しました。立体造形で製作していく工程で特に質感と造型に日本の武士独特の雰囲気が表現できるように努めました。特に苦心したのが鼻と顎の造形です。彫り深さが浅いとのっぺりとした印象になり深すぎるとファンタジー感が強くなってしまい何度も彫り直しました。
